Z Clubs

Zonta Corvallis sponsors two clubs for high school students to serve the community and develop leadership skills. In addition to developing leadership skills, Z Clubs provide opportunities for youth to explore various careers and improve international understanding through service projects.

The two clubs, called Z Clubs, are at Crescent Valley High School and Corvallis High School.

“Z-Clubbers” organize and carry out their own service projects and assist Zonta Corvallis with the annual auction.

Crescent Valley Z Club was the first Z Club in Oregon. Since its founding, club members have worked on service projects and have educated their peers on women’s issues through forums and posters around the school. This year they received “Best School Service Project” award.

Since its founding, Z Club at CHS has organized and staffed the school’s annual Red Cross Blood Drive every year in March and received Zonta District 8’s “Best Community Service Project” award for the past three years. Many of the club members became first-time donors at age 16 and have continued to make regular blood donations.
