The Zonta Club of Corvallis is offering one $2,400 Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship to a woman undergraduate studying business. The winner is also eligible for district and national Klausman scholarships. Applications are due April 28, 2008.

Attendance and Fellowship
This committee encourages full participation of members at meetings; records attendance and makes required reports; promotes acquaintance and friendship among members, guests and visiting Zontians; and plans social events approved by the Board. Chairs are nominated and the committee meets monthly.

By-Laws
This committee updates the local club’s bylaws to reflect the International Bylaws and keeps the Standing Operating Procedures of the club up-to-date. The immediate past president is chair.

Community Service/Scholarships
This committee oversees requests for local allocations and makes recommendations to the Board and membership. It receives applications for scholarships and conducts the selection process. The committee recommends amounts to be allocated for International and District service projects.

- Auction – The Auction Committee coordinates and organizes this major fundraising activity. All members of the club are expected to participate. Chair: Laura Conroy.
- Fair Parking – This committee organizes the participation of the club members working at the entrance gates into the Benton County Fair. All members of the club are expected to participate. Chairs: Kathy Heath and Caron Johnson.

This committee maintains the records of club activities.

Nominating Committee
This committee nominates members to serve as officers and designated committee chairs for the following year. Committee meets in January to prepare slate for voting in March or April.

Organization, Membership and Classification
This committee process membership nominations and makes recommendations to the Board; forwards membership records to Zonta International; conducts initiation and orientation; and oversees the publication of the Member Directory. The committee meets monthly.

Program – United Nations – International Relations
This committee prepares and arranges programs for the evening meeting held quarterly. It plans the Spring Banquet and Installation of Officers held in May. Programs should be related to the objectives and goals of Zonta and to the current international goals. The committee brings UN and Zonta International information to the membership.

Public Relations
This committee promotes Zonta in the community through appropriate methods and the media. The committee is responsible for publishing the Zoom newsletter monthly and maintaining the club’s web site. The committee meets quarterly or as needed.

Status of Women/Service
This committee helps support Zonta’s mission to advance the status of women worldwide; recommends Zontians for various awards and honors; and oversees nomination and selection of the Young Woman in Public Affairs, First Citizen nomination and Zontian of Achievement. It also identifies and researches possible service projects that keep with Zonta’s mission and goals.

- Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards – Promotes the Zonta International Foundation Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards for graduate students in aerospace by distributing posters and application forms to faculty, advisors and departments at Oregon State. Working with the Program Committee, it is responsible for educating the Club about Amelia Earhart and her contribution to aviation, Zonta and women’s rights.
- Holiday Tree Lighting – Organizes Zontians to help with the traditional December tree lighting ceremony in Central Park.
- Literacy – Promotes literacy in Linn and Benton Counties and establishes liaisons with existing literacy organizations. Member: Bonnie Jackson.
- Mother’s Day Tea – Plans annual social event to honor residents at Corvallis Manor. Chair: Julie Hamby
- Rose Day – Orders roses and coordinates the organization and delivery of roses to honored recipients.
